TROOP LEADERSHIP

• New Volunteer Orientation with Learning Log to complete. Online at www.gspb.org
  
  
• Discover: Leadership Essentials Parts 1 and 2 with Learning Logs to complete. Online at www.gspb.org under the link for Adult Learning
  
  
• Connect Class: Leadership Essentials is an interact course held at council facilities or in the form of interactive webinars facilitated by adult volunteer facilitators (See Training Course Schedule). All courses above must be completed within six weeks of appointment to a leadership position.
  
  
• Medic First Aid and CPR certified first aider or equally trained medical person must accompany a troop whenever it leaves its regular meeting site (i.e. field trips, overnights). A leader must update the Discover: Leadership Essentials courses every five years and Medic First Aid & CPR must be renewed every two years.
  

TROOP TRAVELING/CAMPING

An adult currently certified in first aid and an adult who has completed the appropriate Travel/Camp Training(s) must accompany troops traveling and camping. This may or may not be the same person.

ADULT LEARNING FACILITATORS

Facilitators are volunteers and staff who have attended Train The Trainer Certification courses. They are responsible for attending yearly updates to ensure volunteers the most current information.
