Council Training Policy

TROOP LEADERSHIP

A leader must have Let's Get Started and program level training within six weeks of appointment. A certified first aider or equally trained medical person must accompany a troop whenever it leaves its regular meeting site (i.e. field trips, overnights). A leader must update the Let's Get Started training every five years and Medic First Aid & CPR must be renewed every two years.

TROOP TRAVELING/CAMPING

An adult currently certified in first aid and an adult who has completed the appropriate Travel/Camp Training(s) must accompany troops traveling and camping. This may or may not be the same person.

TRAINERS

Trainers are volunteers and staff who have attended Train The Trainer Certification courses. They are responsible for attending yearly updates to ensure volunteers the most current information.
