Opportunities for Parents

Your support is important for your daughter to realize the greatest benefits from her participation in Girl Scouting. There are so many ways for busy parents to help bring exciting opportunities to all girls. Check out the volunteer positions available to all adults.

You can support your daughter and her troop leaders by:

• signing and returning permission slips for product sales, field trips, etc.
  
  
• helping your daughter attend meetings regularly making sure to arrive and depart on time
  
  
• participating in parent meetings and family activities
  
  
• reading newsletter and other information you receive
  
  
• assisting with meetings by providing a program, bringing refreshments, collecting dues
  
  
• coordinating the cookie sale
  
  
• driving or chaperoning
  
  
• taking outdoor training so the troop can go camping
  
  
• showing appreciation to troop leaders for the friendship and guidance they give your daughter on Leader’s Day (April 22) each year
  
  
• becoming an adult Girl Scout member
  
  
• becoming a contributor to the council
