Who can register for resident camp?
All girls, entering grades 2 12 in the fall.
Do you have to be a Girl Scout?
No, all girls are welcome. A membership fee of $10 must be added to camp fee payment to meet our Girl Scout standard of covering every girl with required insurance.
How do I register?
A Registration Form, Health Record and Examination Form and Camper Confidential Information Form must all be completed to enroll a girl for camp. All forms must be downloaded, completed and returned with a $50 non-refundable deposit for each program the camper is attending. The deposit(s) will be applied to the total camp fee. These required forms are also available at any council office.
When can I register?
Registrations may be postmarked, dropped off or faxed beginning March 1, 2008. Registrations will not be accepted prior to this date. All forms and payment must be completed and submitted by May 26, 2008. Campers will receive a FREE T-SHIRT for meeting the May 15 deadline for payment! If payment deadlines cannot be met, contact the Camp Registrar at 800.594.5677 to make arrangements prior to deadlines.
Late Registration: Girls may register up to one week prior to a camp program if space is available. Late registrations must be accompanied by full payment, completed Health Examination Record and Camper Confidential Information Form.
All registrations taken after May 26, 2008 must be accompanied by full payment and all required forms.

How can I pay?
- Personal Check or Money Order made payable to GSPB. Include driver's license number and work phone number on all checks. Returned checks are sent directly to a collection agency;
- Mastercard, Visa, Discover or American Express Complete credit card information, including signature, on Registration Form and indicate total amount to be charged;
- GSPB Cookie Credits earned in the Girl Scout Cookie Sale coupons must be filled out and enclosed with Registration Form. Cookie Credits may not be used for the $50.00 deposit(s). GSPB Cookie Credits are worth 20% MORE when redeemed for resident camp fees at Camp Mitre Peak.
- All registrations taken after May 26th must be accompanied by full payment and all required forms.
Are discounts available for active Girl Scout families?
Yes. Families may apply for ONE of the following discounts. Deduct the discount you qualify for when registering.
- SISTER PLAN: Any Girl Scout family sending more than one daughter to resident camp will receive a special discount of $15 for each daughter. Registration Forms must be received in the same envelope.
- TRAINED LEADER: Active Girl Scout leaders that have taken Lets Get Started in the past 3 years and current program level training receive a $15 discount for each daughter.
How many weeks can I stay at camp?
Campers can enjoy the entire five weeks if desired. Campers can remain in camp for the Saturday between programs in Stay 'N Play. This is a day of rest, laundry and movies for those attending back-to-back programs. The Stay 'N Play fee is $50.00 and it is only available to campers attending programs in consecutive sessions. Check the Stay 'N Play box on the Registration Form.
Can I go with a buddy?
Yes! Girls enjoy making new friends at camp, but if they would like to be with one friend, they may register together as buddies. To register as buddies, the girls must:
- Be in same program grade level (ex. grades 2-4 or 5-7)
- Register for the same program(s)
- Include buddy's name on registration form
- Send enrollment forms and deposits in the same envelope.
Is a health examination needed?
Yes, campers are required to have a health history and examination. See the section on Health Information.
Can I receive a refund if I cancel?
The balance of the camp fee, minus the $50.00 deposit, is refundable if 2 weeks written notice is given or if physician's statement of medical condition is provided which states camper is physically unable to attend camp. There will be no refunds should camper leave early for any reason. Written notice should be mailed to: GSPB, ATTN: Camp Registrar, 5217 N Dixie, Odessa, TX 79762.
Is financial assistance available?
Yes, financial assistance and camp scholarships are made possible for members of Girl Scouts of the Permian Basin through the generosity of individual donors. Camp scholarships are awarded to pay a portion of camp fees for girls actively participating in Girl Scouting and showing a family need. To apply for assistance or scholarships, girls must register for camp, pay a $50 deposit, request a financial assistance application from the Camp Registrar at 432.550.2688 ext 307. All Cookie Credits must be applied to the camp fee before financial assistance is granted. Financial requests must be submitted by MAY 1.
Camp scholarships available to active Girl Scouts in the Permian Basin:
- Pamela "Rebel" Haas Memorial Scholarship is for active Girl Scouts interested in pursuing a horsemanship program.
- Ethel "Evergreen" Sowl Memorial Scholarship is for active Girl Scouts wanting to attend camp.
- "Teddy" Hobart Memorial Scholarship is for active Girl Scouts wanting to attend camp.
