It is our goal to provide an environment rich with adventure, and an atmosphere with positive role models. The girls are given the opportunity to learn quality horsemanship skills and make friends they will enjoy for a lifetime!

Campers will learn about the proper riding position, and the four natural aids, (hands, voice, legs, and seat). They will learn how these aids control the horse through lateral flexion, side passing, moving the hindquarters and forequarters. Girls learn the importance of earning the horse’s respect and giving that respect back to the horse. They will also have “hands on” experience in catching, haltering, leading, grooming, saddling and bridling. This format helps the student develop self confidence, sense of accomplishment, greater self esteem and the importance of teamwork with every lesson. Horsemanship safety on the ground and from the horse’s back is always our top priority. The girls will learn the safest way to work around horses through a safe, conscientious riding environment.

Special topics such as roping, working cattle, farrier work, and cowboy poetry will also be available. These topics will be taught by area experts in our round pen classroom sessions.

At the end of the week, the girls have an opportunity to present their newly acquired riding skills at the "horse and rider presentation". This event is geared toward the skills the girls have developed and incorporated throughout the week.
